Description

Air Fryer Apple Chips are a crispy, sweet snack made with simple ingredients like apples and cinnamon sugar. The perfect healthy treat packed with cozy fall flavor!

Ingredients

  • 3 large Honeycrisp or Gala apples*
  • ½ tsp lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp water
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp white sugar
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • Optional to make them more fancy:
  • ⅛ tsp ground cardamom
  • ⅛ tsp ground ginger
  • ⅛ tsp of sea salt

Instructions

  1. Slice apples into small 1/8-inch rounds using a mandoline or very sharp knife. Leave skin on. Remove seeds. You can core them if you want. Pat completely dry with paper towels.
  2. Toss apple slices with lemon juice and water in a large bowl. Let sit 2 minutes, then drain off excess liquid and pat dry.
  3. Mix brown sugar, cinnamon, and optional additional spices (cardamom, ginger, salt, and cayenne).
  4. Sprinkle over apples and toss until evenly coated.
  5. Let seasoned apples sit for 10 minutes. This draws out moisture and helps spices adhere.
  6. Air fry in batches: Arrange in a single layer (don’t overlap). Air fry at 350°F for 8-10 minutes, flip, then 6-8 minutes more until edges are golden and slightly curled.
  7. Take them out and let them cool on a tray or plate.

Notes

*Honeycrisp or Gala apples are recommended because they have the perfect balance of sweetness and tartness, plus they hold their shape and don’t get mushy when heated.
