Description
These crispy Air Fryer Chicken Tenders skip the flour and breading, coated instead in a sweet and spicy honey chipotle sauce. Perfect for salads, sandwiches, or solo snacking!
Ingredients
- 1½ lbs chicken tenderloins
- 1–2 canned chipotle peppers in adobo, finely chopped
- 1 tablespoon adobo sauce (from the can)
- ¼ cup honey (plus some for drizzling)
- 1 tablespoon lime juice
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- ½ teaspoon ground cumin
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- Make the marinade. In a small bowl, whisk together chopped chipotle peppers, adobo sauce, honey, lime juice, olive oil, and spices until smooth.
- Marinate the chicken. Add chicken tenders to a large bowl and pour the marinade on top. Toss to coat. For the best flavor, marinate for at least 30 minutes in the fridge.
- Preheat the air fryer to 400°F for 5 minutes.
- Lightly oil the air fryer basket. Place the chicken in a single layer. You can work in batches if needed.
- Air-fry the chicken at 400°F for 9–11 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the chicken is cooked through.
- Serve hot, drizzled with a little extra honey if desired.
Notes
- Store these leftover chicken tenders in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 to 5 days.
- To reheat, you can either microwave them for a quick and easy option or reheat them in the oven for a crispier texture. Just place the chicken tenders on a baking sheet and bake at 375°F for about 10 minutes, or until heated through.
