Description

These crispy Air Fryer Chicken Tenders skip the flour and breading, coated instead in a sweet and spicy honey chipotle sauce. Perfect for salads, sandwiches, or solo snacking!

Ingredients

  • 1½ lbs chicken tenderloins
  • 1–2 canned chipotle peppers in adobo, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon adobo sauce (from the can)
  • ¼ cup honey (plus some for drizzling)
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ½ teaspoon ground cumin
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Make the marinade. In a small bowl, whisk together chopped chipotle peppers, adobo sauce, honey, lime juice, olive oil, and spices until smooth.
  2. Marinate the chicken. Add chicken tenders to a large bowl and pour the marinade on top. Toss to coat. For the best flavor, marinate for at least 30 minutes in the fridge.
  3. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F for 5 minutes.
  4. Lightly oil the air fryer basket. Place the chicken in a single layer. You can work in batches if needed.
  5. Air-fry the chicken at 400°F for 9–11 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the chicken is cooked through.
  6. Serve hot, drizzled with a little extra honey if desired.

Notes

  • Store these leftover chicken tenders in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 to 5 days.
  • To reheat, you can either microwave them for a quick and easy option or reheat them in the oven for a crispier texture. Just place the chicken tenders on a baking sheet and bake at 375°F for about 10 minutes, or until heated through.
