Description

This stovetop sautéed green beans recipe is a quick and easy way to make green beans taste amazing. All you need is a handful of ingredients, and it takes roughly 10 minutes to whip up. It’s a flavorful and quick side dish that pairs well with almost any meal!


Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced 
  • 2 tablespoons shallots, sliced
  • 1 pound fresh green beans, trimmed
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • ½ teaspoon salt 
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • Juice of half a lemon 
  • Lemon zest, to garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add a tablespoon of olive oil.
  2. Once the oil is heated, add the garlic and sliced shallots. Sauté for about 1 minute, or until softened.
  3. Add the green beans to the skillet. Stir them frequently, sprinkle water over the green beans, cover, and cook for 5-7 minutes, or until they are tender-crisp.
  4. Squeeze fresh lemon juice over the green beans for extra flavor.
  5. Serve hot as a side dish and enjoy!
