Description

This simple sautéed spinach comes together in under 15 minutes, making it the perfect quick side dish. Fresh spinach is lightly cooked with garlic in olive oil for a flavorful, nutrient-packed addition to any meal.


Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 garlic cloves, thinly sliced
  • 10 ounces fresh baby spinach
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt 
  • ½ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • juice of 1/2 lemon (about 1 tbs)

Instructions

  1. Heat a skillet or Dutch oven over medium heat and add a tablespoon of olive oil.
  2. Once the oil is heated, add the sliced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds.
  3. Add the spinach and sauté for 2-3 minutes, stirring frequently.
  4. Once the spinach is wilted, season with salt and red pepper flakes to taste.
  5. Squeeze fresh lemon juice over the spinach for extra flavor.
