Description

Try this Best Grilled Shrimp for your summer cookouts! Juicy, tender shrimp are marinated with simple ingredients and grilled to smoky perfection.

Ingredients

For the Marinade:

  • 1 cup olive oil
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • Zest of 1 lemon
  • 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tbsp Lea & Perrins (Worcestershire sauce)
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 tbsp minced ginger
  • 2 tbsp fresh flat-leaf parsley

For the Shrimp:

  • 28 shrimp (or adjust amount as needed)

Instructions

  • In a mixing bowl, add all marinade ingredients. Whisk to combine.
  • Pour the mixture into a blender and blend until smooth.
  • Pour the blended marinade over the shrimp in a shallow dish or zip-top bag.
  • If using skewers, thread about 3 shrimp per skewer.
  • Marinate for at least 30 minutes to 2 hours. The longer you marinate, the better the flavor.
  • Preheat the grill to medium heat. Place shrimp skewers evenly on the grill.
  • Grill for 3 minutes on each side, or until the shrimp are opaque and reach an internal temperature of 145°F.

Notes

  • You can use fresh or frozen shrimp. Thaw frozen shrimp fully before marinating.
  • If using wooden skewers, soak them in water beforehand to prevent burning. Place a jar or weight on top to keep them submerged.
  • This recipe makes 9 skewers with about 3 shrimp each (total: 28 shrimp).
  • Shrimp cook really fast so make sure that you really only cook them for about 3 minutes on either side.
  • Make sure not to marinate for too long, maybe 30 minutes – 2 hours should be just fine for max flavor.
