Description

This Apple Cinnamon Swirl Bread is your new favorite fall treat! Think sweet apples and warm cinnamon swirls in every bite. Great for breakfast, a snack, or dessert.

Ingredients

  • ¼ cup light brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon fine salt
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, room temperature
  • â…” cup granulated white sugar
  • 2 large eggs, room temperature
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • ½ cup warm milk
  • 1 medium apple, peeled and diced

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line and lightly grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  2. In a small bowl, mix the brown sugar and cinnamon; set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  4. In another large bowl, beat the granulated sugar and butter with a hand mixer for 2–3 minutes until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs, one at a time, then mix in the vanilla.
  5. Add the dry ingredients in two additions, alternating with the milk, and mix just until combined. The batter will be thick.
  6. Spread half the batter in the pan. Sprinkle half the cinnamon–sugar evenly over the batter. Scatter half the chopped apples in an even layer. Lightly swirl with a knife or toothpick.
  7. Dollop and gently spread the remaining batter over the apples. Top with the remaining chopped apples, then finish with the remaining cinnamon–sugar (so it ends with the same layer as the middle). Lightly swirl again if you like.
  8. Bake for 50–60 minutes, until a tester comes out clean. If the top browns early, tent with foil for the last 10–15 minutes.
  9. Let the loaf rest in the pan for 15 minutes, then lift it out to a rack to cool completely before slicing.

Notes

If you’ve got leftovers, wrap your apple bread in plastic wrap or store it in an airtight container and keep it at room temperature for up to 3 days. If you want to keep it longer, you can store it in the fridge for up to a week. Just make sure to let it come to room temperature before serving again.
