Ingredients
- 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- ½ teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 10 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- ½ cup brown sugar
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg + 1 egg yolk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ¾ cup chocolate chips (your favorite kind)
- Cooking spray, for greasing the skillet
- Optional: vanilla ice cream, for serving
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350℉ and grease a 10-inch oven-safe skillet (cast iron is best).
- In a large bowl, mix the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
- In a separate bowl, mix the melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar. Add the egg, egg yolk, and vanilla and mix again until combined
- Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and fold them together until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.Â
- Fold the chocolate chips into the dough. Transfer the dough to the greased skillet and press it down in an even layer.
- Bake for 23-28 minutes, until the edges are golden brown and the center of the cookie is set.
- Once the cookie is finished baking, let it cool for 10-15 minutes. Slice and serve warm with vanilla ice cream.
