Make your burger better with my Best Damn Burger Sauce. Using simple ingredients, this creamy sauce delivers rich, tangy flavors that take any burger to the next level. It’s also great on fries and sandwiches.

Burger Night Just Got A Major Upgrade

Ordinary burgers are great and all, but slather on some homemade burger sauce, and it becomes soooo much better.

This special sauce has all the fixings of a legendary burger: creamy, tangy, and slightly sweet. You’re seriously going to want to put it on everything. My first suggestion? My Best Damn Smash Burgers, which this sauce was, quite literally, made for.

    Ingredients

    • Pickle juice: I recommend Claussen brand pickle juice for the best flavor.
    • Ketchup: This adds a little sweetness and depth to the sauce.
    • Mustard: I used yellow mustard, but you can swap it with Dijon mustard for a more pungent flavor.
    • Mayonnaise: Duke’s is my go-to for mayonnaise, but feel free to use your favorite brand.
    • Hot sauce (optional): Preferably Cholula if you have it! This will stir up a little heat in the sauce.

    Made in 3 Easy Steps

    1. In a small bowl, add the pickle juice, ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise, and Cholula (if using).

    2. Mix thoroughly until smooth and well combined.

    3. Refrigerate until ready to use. That’s it!

    Pro Tip

This sauce gets even better after chilling for 30 minutes. The flavors will have time to fully develop and meld together. Plus, it’s a great make-ahead option if you’re prepping in advance!

Beyond the Burger: Other Ways to Use This Sauce

This awesome dipping sauce isn’t just for burgers! Try spreading it on sandwiches like my Air Fryer Buttermilk Spicy Chicken Sandwich or use it as a dip for my Air Fryer Homestyle French Fries, Chicken Tenders, Beer Battered Onion Rings, or Roasted Sweet Potato Wedges.

Smash burger next to a delicious bowl of homemade burger sauce.

    Storage

You can keep this burger sauce in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 weeks. If you want to use it as a dip, try storing it in smaller containers or jars for easy portioning.

Boy, did everyone enjoy this sauce. As far as pickle juice goes, I believe any juice that you find at the store that is in the refrigerated case would be ok. To me, those are so much better than pickles (juice) that are on the shelves.
