These Oreo Blondies are simply irresistible, with melty chocolate chips, a buttery dough, and of course, milk’s favorite cookie mixed in! This is a no-fuss recipe, perfect for the novice baker. It doesn’t require any fancy ingredients or equipment to make. The prep only takes 15 minutes and in the end you’ll have a dessert that’s indulgent, decadent, and a total crowd-pleaser.
What are Blondies?
Blondies combine all of the best qualities of an ooey-gooey brownie and a buttery chocolate chip cookie. The process of making them is similar to how you make brownies, just without the cocoa powder. The result is a perfect bar that has all of the flavor you love in a chocolate chip cookie, but a chewy, thick texture like a brownie.
Ingredients and Equipment
You don’t need any specialty equipment or ingredients to make Oreo blondies! You probably already have most of the ingredients in your pantry: flour, brown sugar, salt, vanilla extract, and baking powder.
Just grab an egg and a stick of butter from the fridge. The butter will be melted, so you don’t have to bring it to room temperature.
And what makes this recipe truly shine is the mix-ins: chocolate chips and chopped Oreos. You’ll need about 8 Oreos to make these blondies, so try not to eat them all before you start baking! I like to chop the Oreos in large pieces, breaking each cookie up into 4-5 chunks.
All you need in terms of equipment is a mixing bowl, a whisk, an 8×8 baking dish, and some parchment paper. No electric mixer required.
Preparation
If you’re a baking beginner, there is no need to be intimidated by these Oreo blondies. The process for making them is super simple and only takes 15 minutes of prep.
Start by preheating your oven to 350℉ and lining your baking pan with parchment paper. Then you’re going to mix together your dry ingredients and set them aside for later.
In a separate bowl mix together the sugar, butter, egg, and vanilla. Then add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix everything together. It’s going to make a thick and gooey batter.
Now is the best part: time to add the mix-ins! This is what takes this recipe from good to out-of-this-world. Fold in the Oreos and chocolate chips, and your batter is done!
Cooking
Transfer the batter to your baking dish and spread it around. Since this is a thick batter, it can be a bit difficult to spread. Just try to make it reach all the edges of the pan. Don’t worry if it’s not spread in a perfectly even layer, it will even out while it bakes. I like to sprinkle some extra Oreo chunks and chocolate chips on top before sticking it in the oven to make my blondies even more beautiful and decadent!
Now pop it in the oven and bake for 20-25 minutes. When it’s done, the edges will be golden-brown and the center will be set, but still soft.
Now just let them cool for 15 minutes and you’re ready to slice them and enjoy!
Storage
If you have any leftover blondies, you can store them in an air-tight container at room temperature for up to 4 days. You can also individually wrap each blondie with plastic wrap and place them in the freezer for up to 3 months. Just let them thaw at room temperature for a few hours before serving.
Make this recipe your own!
One reason why I love blondies is because you can easily customize them with your favorite mix-ins and toppings. Some of my favorites additions are walnuts, white chocolate chips, chopped pretzels, and sprinkles!
Oreo blondies are also great served with a glass of milk or a scoop of vanilla ice cream on the side!
