    Tajín-Kissed Watermelon Bliss

We all love watermelon on hot summer days, but what about watermelon mocktails?

This virgin watermelon Tajín cocktail brings together the sweet and juicy flavor of watermelon with a kick of heat from jalapeño and tangy lime, all perfectly complemented by the savory spice blend of Tajín. It’s a fun, festive drink that brings the party, no alcohol needed.

    Ingredients for watermelon Tajin mocktail.

    Ingredients

    • Lime: You’ll need a lime wedge for the Tajín rim and lime juice for the mocktail.
    • Tajín: To rim the glass and add a burst of flavor to this delicious mocktail.
    • Jalapeño: Make sure you remove the seeds so it’s not overly spicy.
    • Watermelon juice: I’ll show you how to make this below!
    • Agave syrup: I prefer this natural sweetener, but you’re welcome to use simple syrup instead.
    • Sparkling water: Adds some fizz and a refreshing element to the mocktail.
    • Ice: To keep your mocktail nice and cold.

    Optional Garnishes

    • Fresh mint sprig
    • Jalapeño slice
    • Lime wedge

    How to Make Watermelon Juice

    Ingredients:

    • 4 cups seedless watermelon, cubed

    Instructions:

    1. Add the watermelon cubes to a blender. Blend on high until completely smooth, about 30 seconds.
    2. Pour the blended watermelon through a fine mesh sieve or cheesecloth into a bowl or pitcher to remove the pulp. Use the back of a spoon to press out as much juice as possible.
    3. Store in the refrigerator for up to 3 days in a sealed container.

How to Make a Watermelon Tajin Mocktail

    1. To start, pour some Tajín into a shallow dish, then rub a lime wedge around the rim of a glass. Dip the rim into the Tajín to coat. Set aside.
    2. Next, in a cocktail shaker or mixing glass, muddle a few jalapeño slices with some fresh lime juice.
    3. Pour the watermelon juice and a little agave syrup into the shaker. Give it a good stir to mix everything together.
    4. Fill up your Tajín-rimmed glass with ice, then pour in the watermelon mixture.
    5. Top it off with sparkling water and garnish however you like. Cheers!

    Storage

This mocktail recipe makes one serving, but you can double or triple it if you need more. Just pour it into a sealable glass jug or bottle and keep it in the fridge for up to 3 days.

    Pro Tip

Make sure to give it a good shake before pouring since the ingredients might settle. Also: don’t let it sit too long, or the sparkling water might lose its fizz!
